Random Acts of Kindness

I always enjoyed the idea behind the movie, “Pay It Forward” (movie, concept) – wouldn’t the world be a better place if we spent our time thinking about what nice things we could do for our fellow man instead of the selfish things that generally fill our heads?

Why can’t people just be nicer, more caring, and helpful? There is so much hate, jealously, and anger that it has become second nature.

I know none of this new material, so I won’t drone on about the sad state of our world. So, moving on…

This week is Random Acts of Kindness Week!

Although us kids should always play nice with each other in this sandbox called Earth, we sometimes lose sight of that fact. It’s good to have a little reminder, so get out there and do something nice for once!

My first (hopefully not last) act of kindness occurred today at work. My coworker mumbled under their breath that they could really use a Skinny Vanilla Latte today. I had already planned on heading over to Starbucks to get coffee, so when I did, I made sure to pick up a Skinny Vanilla Latte for them.

Not a huge deal, I know, but it’s something I wouldn’t have done for anyone but a really good friend. And honestly even then I normally wouldn’t have thought of it.

So, keep it going! Feel free to share your Random Act of Kindness in my comments or on your own blog!

  1. This is a great idea!Did your co-worker appreciate the gesture?

That movie is so enjoyable, though the end was unexpected. (I don’t want to spoil it for people who haven’t seen it!)

  2. Jess – No! I barely got a thank you! Hahaha, oh well.

  3. I really like that idea.
